The marker dye problem you didn't see coming

It’s a well-known fact here at Solo NZ, that kiwis love their marker dye when they’re spraying their lawns and gardens.

If it works for you, we’re all for it! What marker dye doesn’t work for though, is many of the sprayers us Kiwis have at home. But there’s a solution - Solo NZ has two sprayers suitable for marker dye use.

What is marker dye?

Marker dye is a concentrated colourant designed to be used with herbicides, fungicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Marker dye indicates where you’ve sprayed, and where you still need to spray.

After a while though, marker dye dries out and separates from the solution. It turns into a sand-like residue that scratches the piston inside certain sprayers and gets stuck in the pump. This leads to a sprayer that’s incredibly hard to pump and will eventually begin leaking.

While all Solo sprayers have replaceable parts and can be serviced, the problem will keep happening if you continue to use marker dye in sprayers that aren’t compatible with this solution.

Solo NZ has two sprayers suitable for marker dye use - the Solo 475 and the Solo 473D.

Solo Classic Backpack Sprayer 475 15L Diaphragm

One of the world's most popular sprayers, the Solo Classic backpack 475 15L sprayer with diaphragm comes standard with the desired Viton seals, wide padded adjustable straps and a pump handle that can be set for left or righthand users.
